Hungarian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary H.E.M. Bernard Leclerc has had the chanceto present himself and his intentions as the New Executive Vice-President of The Pacific DevelopmentFoundation Committee on May 1st, 2019, during an audience of more than one hour with Prime MinisterCharlot Salwai Tabimasmas.

Also present was MP Marc Ati from Luganville, Santo.

H.E.M. Leclerc was able to discuss his projects with the Foundation regarding the country’s medical needs aswell as educative sector requirements.

Ambassador Leclerc said the Foundation will be working closely with the Red Cross to ensure remedialaction is being carried out according to the Foundation’s framework action plan.

In terms of medical support, the Ambassador mentioned the assistance of Doctor Marc Gentilini whois a professor of French medicine and a specialist in infectious and tropical diseases.

Hence, Doctor Gentilini will join the Foundation in supporting our country through a more advanced ideological level of apprehending the various uses of medicine.

PM Salwai took the chance to explain in detail the needs of the country in improving treatments fordiabetics, cancers and other forms of diseases.

The Ambassador emphasised the need for training at the medical level, advising the Government to signa training agreement with the Dean of the Catholic University of Medicine and Maïeutics of Lille, France, whom the Ambassador had previously met to discuss Vanuatu.

All in all, PM Salwai assured Ambassador Leclerc of his unwavering support.

Ambassador Leclerc claimed he will return in September to focus on and execute more groundwork, with the obligation of servicing the people and building relationships with national partners as well as the Government.
